Sinclair~

True to his word, Orion had picked me up like a gentleman, and when we had arrived at the restaurant, I’d been disappointed that he’d had the foresight to rent out the restaurant for the night, giving us the privacy that I’d wanted. Disappointed because I wanted Orion to fail. While I was attracted to him and felt something for him, safety came in the form of this date not working out. If things didn’t go well, then it’d be a win/win for me. I could tell Harley that I tried, and I’d no longer be in danger of liking Orion Knight more than I already did.

However, so far, the date was working out.

“You really didn’t have to rent out the whole restaurant,” I said as we ate our meals.

“Yeah, right,” he scoffed. “There was no way that I was going to take any chances on this date.”

It was hard not to be charmed by this guy. Yeah, some women would be put off by his persistence, but I wasn’t one of those women. I felt as if I was worth the effort to make Orion Knight work for it. In fact, all men should have to work for it. A prize earned was cherished a lot more than a prize given, and I knew that a lot of women wouldn’t care because of who Orion was.

“Okay, so you’ve let me talk about my family, my friends, and work all evening long, it’s your turn now, I told him.

The second that we’d been seated, Orion had insisted on knowing everything about me. Used to everything always being about him, he had used that as an excuse to give me the floor, and it’d been sweet. From the second that he had picked me up from my apartment, I couldn’t shake the vibe that Orion genuinely wanted to get to know me, and my ego and lady bits were a big fan.

There was also the fact that he looked freakin’ hot as hell. Orion had shown up wearing an untucked blue button-up, the sleeves rolled up to the elbows, a pair of dark jeans, a pair of black shoes, and that dark hair of his had been styled to tempt my fingers into sliding through it. There was no doubt that Orion Knight was gorgeous, and if you asked me, that’s why that picture of his sister’s college graduation was so damn famous. Take five guys that were shredded to shit, gorgeous as sin, and all over six-foot, and you had a serious grievance on why they hadn’t all made a calendar yet.

“What do you want to know?” he asked.

“Is it weird for you that your sister is married to your best friend?”

When Sebastian Havoc and Nova Knight had gotten married a few months ago, the news had been everywhere. Sebastian had admitted to the world that he’d been in love with her since they’d been kids, and their love story was envied by many. Yeah, I could have asked
